ParticipantThe Membership Level “Role” designations only serve to populate the initial WP User table entries, whenever a new Member profile is first created.
The scope of operation for SWPM is “content access.”
The scope of operation for WordPress User Roles is “to give the site owner the ability to control what users can and cannot do within the site.”
https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_CapabilitiesMay I tag in on this question? I understand the different scope of SWPM and WP Users. It sounds like you are saying that If a member is deleted in SWPM, they will still be listed as a subscriber in the Users table. is that right?
Further, if I delete a User from the WP Users table, will I still need to delete them from the Members table?
Why would I do this? to clean up a really messed up group of users and members from someone not completing the setup of SWPM a few months ago.

ParticipantThank you mbrsolution and The Assurer.
I have created two membership levels: Lifetime and Annual.
Members receive access to a genealogy database – which is installed via separate software and shares the DB with WordPress DB. All the files which allow members to search and access the Genealogy DB (GDB) are inside a folder named ‘tng’ which is in the root folder where WP site is installed. Both the WP install and the GDB (in the tng folder) use the same database. But the pages that are created and live inside the folder /tng/ are not accessible in the PAGES area of the WP Dashboard,
What is the way to protect this content which is part of the WP database content?
Thanks for your help.

ParticipantThere error is not happening. I was in error setting up a lifetime membership as a subscription. It’s a buy now – one time purchase!
I made Lifetime as buy now and Annual as 1 year subscription.
all is good! Thanks for replying.

ParticipantYes, an example:
The website is a genealogy non-profit offering access to a genealogy database through membership.
The website is at mydomain.com and the genealogy DB is at mydomain.com/tng/index.phpI’d like to make the tng subdirectory protected and only viewable by members.
Is there a way to do that?
Thanks!
