This continues to be a problem for me. Autologin is not working and I’m at a loss as to how to troubleshoot it.

I set up my regigstration page to go to the membership page to verify and it’s not showing the user as logged in.

I actually read the docs thoroughly several times before posting this help request. As I explained, this is working fine in my dev site, but in production it is not.

When I try to using the workflow in a regular browser window, I sometimes get this error which makes no sense to me – What is “nonce”? I assume this is because WordPress and/or the browser is trying to pick up my admin credentials even though I wasn’t signed in to the site: Auto login nonce verification check failed!

How do I troubleshoot why the user is not being auto logged in (or maybe is being logged out?), after registration? I provided URLs in my original post if you want to give it a try yourself to replicate the issue.

I really appreciate your help. FWIW, the only place to download the plugin is from the simple-membership-plugin.com website.I noticed today that it now has the new version as well.

Thank you so much. I will install and test later today. For what it is worth, this plugin is not in WP.org repository that I could find and the Adds-On link to it from inside the main plugin points back to the website.

I get the 1.4 version.

You told me you updated the code in this plugin to fix the header redirect problem, however, it is still broken after I installed the new version. I compared the contents of the old plugin, including a like by line compare of each php file, to the one I downloaded that is supposed to be fixed and they are exactly the same.

Given that the error still exists and the files are the same, I concluded that the new version is not linked on the website.

I just checked the file I downloaded and the main.php file still says version 1.4. Maybe I didn’t get the new version?

The error in the shortcode was just a typo in this forum post. I double-checked the code and it is right in the site. For the heck of it, I tried without quotes around the URL in the shortcode and it still didn’t work.

I feel like there’s something about how this add-on plugin works with the main plugin that is somehow triggering a second call for the WordPress header.

For what it’s worth, i deactivated all of my plugins and switched to the WP 2019 theme and the problem persists. I’ve got to think it’s a problem with this plugin in particular.

i know there’s a typo in the above shortcode in this post, but that was just an accident here.
The right shortcode, which still gives the error is:

[swpm_update_level_to level=”11″ button_text=”Continue as Free Member” redirect_to=”https://google.com”]

The theme developer told me “it looks like coming from a plugin that has a header code line that already exists.”
