I disabled all the plugins except simple membership.
I changed the theme.
Problem persists.

If I disable all the plugins, how will I test this as one of the plugins is Simple Membership?

This is a live membership site. This trouble shooting could shut down the site, could it not? Rebuilding the site is not a viable option. The plug-ins and theme are integral parts of this site.
Is there no other option?

I don’t have any caching plugins in the site, and it’s been in two different hosts, — the current one says this isn’t a cache problem.

As I said, the problem I have is that all the users are displayed, with their passwords as *’s on login.
I don’t want this to appear.

When a user clicks on the sign-in dialogue, a list of all the users is displayed. Their password is ****’s but by clicking on the username, it allows entry.

I’ve tested this on an incognito browser, and I’m not logged in anywhere.
How do I stop this list from being displayed?

I looked at the documentation for the plugin you suggest and I don’t see anywhere that it pertains to this problem. Perhaps I’m not reading it correctly?
