Hi mbrsolution, thank you for your reply.

In the dashboard settings of the sub-domain in the permalink settings, common settings is set to post name with the following structure http://sub-domain.example.com/sample-post.

This not a multisite setup.

Browsing through the files on the Bluehost I don’t see a .htaccess page in the sub-domain nor the primary domain.

If you have some detailed instructions on what to check exactly, please let me know as it seems I may need a deeper understanding of the permalink structure.
