ParticipantHello
“Are you allowing your members to log in using WP login widget or are you only allowing your members to log in using our plugins login widget?”
I have a custom login page, but not sure about how this could affect user role
“You can review each of your membership level configuration and make sure you are setting the role to what you really want/need (normally it should be a “contributor” or “subscriber” role).”
Not sure about what you mean here either. As written in previous post, regardless of the user role i set in membreship level options (contributor, author or whatever), new members are assigned “subscriber” user role. Or did you mean that i have to change user role for each member manually ?
Best regards

ParticipantHello again,
I set default WordPress Role to “contributor” (see here >>
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GuEpAnPBtFjXwoYMVECIwnwZb-HqcAJY/view?usp=sharing), then i registred in test mode with Stripe and it’s the exact same result. Member is created with “subscriber” user role.Any idea ?
Best regards

ParticipantHello, and thank you for your reply.
I created it a long time ago, probably with “user role editor” or “members by memberpress”.
Custom user role is essantial when you need to restrict lots of thing on a website, such as featured image based on membership level, video quality based on membership level, hide ads or not, hide in-video ads or not etc…So when user registers, custom user role is assigned and all the things that have to be hidden or shown to new user are automatically shown or hidden. Because no membership plugin allows to restrict everything.
Is it a problem ?
Best regards
