We are looking at having our charge as just a single recurring annual payment, however as it’s not “cheap” we’d like to offer 7 days for just £1.
I can see we can do this via the payment button page and that’s seems to all be ok.
However the problem I have is with cancelling / ending the membership.
If we were just doing recurring payment with no 7 day trial I’d set the membership expiry to 1 year, we get no payment a year later their membership automatically expires and the restricted access is lost.
But if they cancel their recurring payment at PayPal straight away, having only paid £1 they keep their access for the full year.
The other option is to leave the expiry as blank and then when the subscription is cancelled we expire their membership.
But if they have now paid their annual fee, and are only after cancelling the auto-renew, they should really have access for the rest of the year.
Anyone doing anything similar? Have you found a way that works?
Hi,

Can you provide more information. I don’t understand what you mean? The recurring payment is initiated the moment the member pays for the 1 year membership subscription.
Kind regards
