    Hi,
actually, I like the plugin and would like to use it. However, there is an issue with the 2FA authentication with wordfence installed.

First I found it quite uncomfortable that the owner of the site (me, an I am of course admin) needs to be imported into the membership list using an additional plugin in order to see my own created and protected content…

Once this is done and I log out and try to login again to see if everything works fine, big surprise: An erorror occurred while trying to authenticate.

If I didn’t have another username with admin rights installed, I would have locked myself out. There are (more uncomfortable workarounds, like disabling the plugin on the host server), but in the end this is not what makes me happy.

After trying for hours, I figured that the error only occurs, when 2FA is activated in my wordfence plugin. No idea if it’s the 2FA technique or the wordfence plugin. However, I want wordfence and I want 2FA active for all admins.

Btw, deleting a member from the separate membership list in SWPM also deletes the user from the main user list. Is that wanted?

So, is there a solution for this issue?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Does the issue happen when they try to log into your site using WP Users login or when they try to log into the membership area?

    Thank you

Unfortunately I don’t use Wordfence plugin myself. I use All In One WP Security and works well with Simple Membership plugin.

Do you have any Simple Membership addons installed and activated in your site?

    Thank you

    Hi,
    thank you for your support.

No, I have no Simple-Membership addons installed. Actually wordfence works really well. As I have a premium subscription, I will continue using it, at least for one year…

So, as far as I understand, Simple membership works well with AIO WP Security and has not been tested with wordfence? Correct?

So far WPSM works well with wordfence, too. Only, it will lock you out if you activate 2FA in wordfence. I could test the 2FA addon provided with Simple Membeship, but this will be another 40 bucks, just to find out if it works. The 2FA function is included in wordfence…

If there is no solution I have to choose between Simple membership and wordfence, right?

    Thank you,
    regards,

Hi, This won’t work unfortunately with the 2FA from the other plugin. So yes you need to look for an alternative membership plugin.

The following page has some explanation of why conflicts can happen:
