What if someone is already registered as a user and then buys a product?

If someone is already registered as a subscriber on my site – but NOT logged in, and then decides to buy a product for the first time, the system takes them to the normal registration page. The problem is they already have user name, email and password. Should I (somehow?) add a login option on the registration page with a note saying if they’re already a subscriber, then login instead of filling out the registration?

Thank you. This is a slightly different case. What happens if the person is a ‘subscriber’ but NOT logged in? That is, they are not a ‘member’ – only an existing subscriber of the site (I’ve got lots of these who became subscribers before I added the SM plugin).

My thinking is that if they decide to join, then they are going to end up on the Registration page – which is going to ask for a user name and password etc. But they’ve already go that.

So, if I also add a Login option there too and explain they if they are already a subscriber, all they have to do is login, that would do it – I am going to test this anyway – but thought I’d just ask first in case I’m missing something (I’m very new to this plugin – and so far it’s great!).

Hi, in your case you might want to import them into Simple Membership plugin using the following plugin. When you import them only provide minimum access to the site. Then allow them to sign up for a paid account if that is what you would like to do.
