ParticipantI think this plugin is causing an issue for my first time visitors. When a new visitor tries to access a public page – a page set with “No, Do not protect this content.” in the SMP page settings – they are redirected to my homepage.
When I look at the network tab in the dev console I can see the membership plugin is checking for login status, but only on the first page of the first visit. This issue disappears when the user clicks on the navigation link to go back to the target page and it works fine. (trying this with incognito tabs is always reproducible).
Any thoughts on how to solve this?
Try this page:

ModeratorAre you using any kind of page caching?

ParticipantI’m not using anything for caching (e.g. Super cache)

InactiveI have entered the aforementioned URL and it works perfectly, any page I visit directs me to the aforementioned page, it does not take me to the homepage.
You will have to delete the cookies.February 13, 2018 at 6:31 pm #13354campdc11
ParticipantDid you try this on an incognito browser tab by chance? Doing that makes it always reproducible for me.
I’m happy to create a quick video screen demo if it helps.

ParticipantSo I’ve been able to track this down to a cookie issue. When the “swpm_session” cookie is present, the link works fine. When this cookie is not present, the site is doing a session check, not finding the cookie, and then redirecting the user to my homepage.
Has anyone ever seen this issue? I can’t find a setting to fix this and it’s clearly not documented so I’d appreciate some help, otherwise I’ll need to look at migrating off the plugin since this is having a negative effect on donations to my organization.
