InactiveI currently have several members registered on my website at https://christiangayschat.com through WPMU Membership 2 Pro.
I built the site four months ago and have had nothing but problems re invoices not having names, being put through on the wrong dates (like two weeks early), members receiving notification that their membership has ended AFTER I’ve received their money, etc, etc. The list of issues is endless.
Because the M2P plugin is integrated into so many aspects of the website I’ve decided to completely rebuild the site at https://christiangaysconnections.com. It will probably take me a few more days to do everything but in the meantime I have imported my paying members to the new site and have set their membership levels.
I assume that the new site will record payments now as they come in – or do I need to do anything else?
Will there be any problems that you foresee with M2P still being active on the other website?
Would appreciate any words of wisdom. Many thanks! 😉

ModeratorHi, it is very challenging to answer your question. The reason being is that I have never used the other plugin you mentioned above. The only way to know what will happen if someone signs up or one of your current members “Imported members” pays for their subscription. I am not sure exactly how you have set up the membership levels.
In regards to your comment.
but in the meantime I have imported my paying members to the new site and have set their membership levels.
If you have set up the membership levels exactly or similar to how you had them set up using your previous plugin then there should be no issue. As long as you take into account the differences between both plugins. As I mentioned above, I know nothing about the plugin you mentioned. Simple Membership plugin automates everything if you set it up correctly from the word go.
You will have to monitor this process and report back with any issues you may run into if any.
Kind regards

InactiveI understand. I kind of thought you might not be able to answer. I’m not concerned with new subscribers. I’ve tested and that works OK. I’m concerned about my monthly subscribers. I’ve stopped money going to the old site. I just hope it will automatically come to this one. I suspect I should be doing something with PayPal but not sure what. I’d better take another look at it.
My next subscription payment is due on the 9th so we’ll see.
Thanks again!

InactiveSorry, another question. I’m trying to figure out if I need to contact PayPal to have them change anything for my established subscriptions to be processed, but as I think about it, I am remembering that with the M2P plugin, it recorded all of my payments that came into my PayPal account, including donations, which is not related in any way to the M2P plugin.
If that is the case with this plugin then I would think that I don’t need to contact PayPal, because all payments that come into that email address will be posted to the new plugin.
Is this how the SM plugin works?

ModeratorHi the plugin has a Payments tab in the menu which records All the payments/transactions of your members.

InactiveThank you. Yes I saw the Payments page. I was wondering more about the process. I guess from your answer that PayPal figures it out. I’ll know soon enough when my next payment comes through, due tomorrow I think.
Thanks for all your help.

ModeratorYou are most welcome. Can you report back if it is doing what you expected when you receive your next payment. If you have any issues in the future you can always start a new support thread.
Thank you

InactivePayment came through this morning but it did not get registered on SM ;-(

InactiveI just called PayPal. There is nothing to be changed as far as they are concerned. The payment came through just fine from their end. They say that the change to make existing subscriptions work must be done from the plugin I’m using.
Any suggestions how this might be accomplished?
Can I enter them manually, possibly via phpMyAdmin?

ModeratorDo you have PayPal IPN enabled in your PayPal account?
Can you also enable Debug Mode. Next time a payment is made can you check the log file.
Are the members belonging to a Membership Level?
March 9, 2016 at 11:26 pm #5803Anonymous
InactiveYes IPN is enabled. I have been using this system for over 10 years so it is well established.
Yes, my members belong to levels.
I will enable debug mode. Next payment due on the 11th so day after tomorrow.
What do you think of me adding them via phpMyAdmin?
March 10, 2016 at 10:12 am #5807mbrsolution
ModeratorHi, that is not a bad idea. However I would wait to see if the log file shows any important information.

InactiveI manually entered the most recent payments for 40 members into phpMyAdmin. They show up as they should in Payments, however I received a renewal subscription payment today from one of them, and it was not recorded.
I just called PayPal and apparently there is no way to avoid making my members register again on the new site. ;-(
Feature requests for Payment Page:
Please add Username, and make Date, Username and Last Name sortable.
Many thanks!

KeymasterWe have added sort option for those fields. It will be available in the next release of the plugin.
The “Member Profile” column will have a link to the member’s profile that the payment belongs to (if the member did the transaction while logged into the site). You will need to check the code and add data correctly there so it matches with what our plugin is expecting.
