ParticipantSo I added two paypal buttons on the /membership-join/ page, just as the guide suggested. Both the paypal buttons had the advanced variables box checked when I made them, where I added the code. Everything was done by the book, literally: https://simple-membership-plugin.com/wp-content/uploads/documentation/simple-membership/membership-basic-setup-and-configuration.pdf
However, i thought I’ll test it out. So as I made the buttons using my business paypal account, I thought i’ll buy the $9.99 ‘one-day pass’ I made with my personal paypal account (it has a different email).
The checkout process went fine, but when everything was paid, that was it. Nothing happened. I didn’t receive a confirmation email to give me the username and password or any of that, nor did paypal redirect me to a page where I can create an account. That was it. There was nothing in my email inbox, and I received no evidence my new account existed. There was no change in the ‘members’ section of the WP membership admin area either. So basically, I paid $9.99 (to myself thankfully), for nothing.
What’s happened?
P.s. I’m using the latest version of wordpress.org

KeymasterThat means the plugin didn’t receive any payment notification after the payment. It can happen if your PayPal account doesn’t have the IPN feature enabled. Log into your PayPal account and enable the IPN feature.

ParticipantOk, thanks.
So I went to my paypal and to the IPN section, and it’s asking me for the ‘Third Party Permission Username’. Do you know what that is?

KeymasterYou shouldn’t need to specify and useranme. Checkout the following YouTube video which shows you how to enable IPN in your PayPal account (the basics of enabling IPN is the same for any PayPal account):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=et8KFv0vYWMJust use the homepage URL of your site when you are enabling it.
