Hi!
I think your plugin seems simple and neat to use. But a cannot find the possibility to add tax to the price. Also, does the subscriber get an invoice for their monthly subscription by mail. If, so I need the tax to be included and displayed there as well.
If there is no way to include tax, are there any plugin that adds that feature, for instance, the Woocommerce plugin addon?
Thanks
Ola EbornFebruary 6, 2019 at 11:55 pm #17283The AssurerModeratorIt is not possible, or even conventional, to “add on” taxes to subscriptions. It is sufficient to say that “X” includes all applicable taxes; and to breakdown the specific amounts on the back office end, if required.
February 7, 2019 at 7:53 am #17292olaebornParticipantok I get it. But the client who subscribes must be able to get invoices monthly (if that is the period) where taxes are specified on that invoice, right? I order for him to run his bookkeeping correctly.
February 7, 2019 at 7:40 pm #17295The AssurerModeratorNo periodic invoicing is possible, on the part of SWPM. When a payment processor, such as PayPal is used, a payment contract is established directly between the payment processor and the buyer; wherein the payment processor collects the payment on your behalf. You don’t have anything further to do with the process, except accept the payment or cancellation IPN from the payment processor.

I figured, since there is an action hook to use when a paypal payment goes through, maybe there is a way to create an invoice myself that goes out to the customer, and then i can specify the tax correctly on that invoice to use for bookkeeping purposes.

Then that would be a receipt, not an invoice. An “invoice” is a demand for money. A “receipt” is an acknowledgement that money has been already been received. PayPal already gives the subscriber a receipt, each time a payment is made (and you the seller cannot turn it off). A second one from you every month would only confuse/anger the subscriber.
February 8, 2019 at 6:28 am #17299olaebornParticipantYes, you are right of course. I used the wrong word. I meant reciept. Yes, thats right. Paypal send reciepts. But mmaybe you can specify tax within paypal somehow, or does Stripe has more options maybe?
Or, maybe I just have to come to the conclusion that Simple membership plugin doesnt fullfil all my needs in this and have to look for another solution.
February 8, 2019 at 9:05 am #17301olaebornParticipantIt seems like it will work with taxes since Paypal do has settings for that! I just have to try it out to make sure everething works just the way I want it.
I tried to activate the plugins sandbox-mode but i couldnt get it to work.
