WordPress Membership Plugin
Simple Membership Plugin › Forums › Simple Membership Plugin › SWPM interaction with Business Directory Plugin
My site is an online directory of small, independent, local businesses of member businesses, in a handful of categories. The money comes from businesses buying memberships which gives them listings and potential other services such and member forums, face-to-face meetings, etc.
At some point, which I’ve forgotten, I realized that I didn’t feel that I had a mechanism to keep track of members and some don’t have enough contact information on their web sites so I needed something to maintain member information. I asked around and looked at many membership plugins and decided on Simple WP Membership, have installed it and have mostly configured it. I currently have no members.
I’m quite confused about features in SWPM and BDP which seem to overlap, like payments. Both use PayPal and I’ve set up a PayPal account for the business. I feel stuck right now as to how to continue. I’ll admit that I don’t generally read any documentation in detail and generally get by reading the high points and following the instructions. At this point, though, I’m not sure my payments are set up (through SWPM) are going to work.
While I’m waiting for an answer to this, I’m going back to read the documentation on setting up payments through BDP.
Thank you for your help. Confused

The documentation for SWPM is quite explanatory, about how to configure specific plugin behaviors. However, because everyone’s usage-case is different; perhaps you might consider hiring an IT person who is familiar with setting up WordPress sites; or using our Paid Support service.
