I understand about membership upgrade.
But I would like my members to still be able to access content from their original level. For example, I have over 15 different courses. If somebody purchases a course, they have access to it, but if they purchase a second course it upgrades so that they can only access the second course. As there are so many courses it would be confusing with multiple upgrade buttons.
Is there a way a member can upgrade but still have access to the previous level.

Unfortunately that feature is not currently available. Because of the number of courses you are offering in your site, there is no easy way to achieve what you are trying to do. The developers have plans to release an addon to allow members to belong to more than one membership level. However I am not sure when will this be done.
