My client has asked me to revise a current form to make it shorter. I will be removing several of the fields.

    My question are?

Will the changes (fields being removed) cause issues with the data that has already been collected?

Should I edit the form I have already created by removing fields or should I create a create a new form and install it to replace the existing form?

    Thank you,

    Steve B.

“Best change control practices” say that you should create a new form. That way, you have the original as a backup. Remember to use the same field names as the original (that you want to keep).

There is nothing preventing you from simply editing an existing form. But as a matter of “best practices,” you should always have a backup; as previously mentioned.
