We only have a free membership level, and although we have the recaptcha set up on the join page (http://simplyjesusgathering.com/join/register), we’re getting a ton of bogus spam accounts being created. I’d like to require new members to click the confirmation link to join, but right now that email isn’t being sent, and I can’t figure out how to require it. Can you help?
Perhaps adding a few more extra fields using the Form Builder add-on, might help you with your issue.

So just to clarify, you’re saying that there’s no way to require the user to confirm their email address before becoming a member at the free level without the Form Builder plugin?
Yes, that is correct. At present the free membership sign up does not send out an e-mail for confirmation only the paid membership sign up.

Ok, last question: Do you know why we’re getting so many bogus spam accounts being set up, even with the captcha in place? Do you have any other suggestions for filtering those out?
Hi, unfortunately no. I can only recommend adding a couple of mandatory extra fields. This in a way might deter spamming. You can also set to manually activate and control the accounts.
