WordPress Membership Plugin
Simple Membership Plugin › Forums › Simple Membership Plugin › Renewal Buttons Require Registration
According to the documentation I can use the same buttons for renewal as for registration. Unfortunately what happens is when a current member clicks on the button it asks them to register again.
They should just be able to login and either renew their Complimentary Membership, or their paid membership without having to re-register. That will just really complicate things.
What am I missing?
Hi Mary, currently that is how the plugin is set up.
I am thinking of a scenario where my member is currently Complimentary but they want to upgrade to $2/mo.
If they re-register, their old profile will be there, so they won’t be able to use the same email address or username.
If I ask them to delete their old profile after they have taken the time to fill in all the profile fields, only to have to ask them to enter all the information again – well that just doesn’t seem like a good solution.
Surely there is a better way of handling this?
Does this mean that when a membership expires, they can’t just renew it? They have to re-register and fill in all the profile details again but with a different username and email address?
What if they only have one email address?
