ParticipantI am using sandbox paypal to test the plugin.
I am very disappointed, the system doesn’t send properly the email for the registration after the payment.

[09/15/2015 10:57 PM] – SUCCESS :Paypal class finished. The log says that the email was sent successfully but I never received it.
It worked the first time days ago and It was good.
But I tried 2 times today, and I see that there is a problem.
What has changed since the first registration that worked properly?!
The only thing is that I added the url on the Paypal IPN configuration page and I added the all free Simple WP Membership Plugins. What can I do?
Kind regards

ModeratorHi can you explain the following further.
The only thing is that I added the url on the Paypal IPN configuration page and I added the all free Simple WP Membership Plugins.

Participantit means that … using sandbox the payment worked properly when i created the fist account of a fake user who made a payment.
later … also if it was not really necessary (because it worked properly the first time and the recurring payments worked too also without send notification emails), i configured the Paypal IPN on the sandbox account adding the url of the website where the plugin is istalled
later… testing the plugin, i installed also so many plugin addons as I was able to install, also if I have still not used them until now.

ModeratorHi, which option you mentioned above stopped the sandbox test working correctly?
September 16, 2015 at 9:52 am #3087jscmal
ParticipantIf I could know which of them stopped the sandbox text to work properly, I could be able to manage it. But I can’t and even I don’t know if they can be the cause. The cause can be anything.
I am asking you why the service doesn’t send registration emails after the payments. you have experiences and many case studies, then the knowledge to say what can be the usual causes of this problem.
Kind regards

ParticipantI’m having the same problem, but but with real transactions and not in the sandbox environment. Should I post here or create a new thread?

Participantwhat is the problem that you have?
does it happen also with the new release available since today?September 16, 2015 at 8:50 pm #3096ssaras
ParticipantOkay, so I created the payment button with the fee amount and a paypal account linked, then I clicked the button, payed with a different paypal account, the transaction was a success, but no registration email was sent to sign up.

Moderator@ssaras do you have PayPal IPN set up?
September 17, 2015 at 8:44 pm #3114ssaras
ParticipantOk, I followed the guide, upgraded my account to business, enabled the IPN and set https://simple-membership-plugin.com as the notification url. I tried again but still no email. Is the notification url the correct one?
September 18, 2015 at 12:10 am #3118mbrsolution
Moderator@ssaras the Notification URL is your website where the plugin is installed.
September 18, 2015 at 12:38 am #3120ssaras
ParticipantStill nothing. I enabled IPN in my paypal, set the Notification URL to my home page, tested again, and still not working… Are there any other settings I need to configure?

ModeratorCan you confirm that the e-mails are not landing in the spam box? What e-mail address are you testing i.e. Hotmail, yahoo, gmail or domain name?
September 18, 2015 at 12:54 am #3123ssaras
ParticipantI’m using a gmail account. And no, they aren’t in the spam box. I’m also looking at my PayPal IPN history page and the IPN status says “Retrying” for all the transactions I’ve tested.

ParticipantAlso, I’m testing this under a sub domain. Will that affect the plugin? I have to take this site live by Monday, but I can’t test membership purchase and registration while live.
