We’re using WPSM with the Mailchimp integration. As has been noted elsewhere on this forum, when a membership expires, even though the option is clicked within the WPSM settings to update/remove the membership status in Mailchimp, the integration does not work.

So, we manually remove the Membership status (“Group” in Mailchimp) from each expired member.

However (and here’s the additional, possible bug): if a membership has expired, we have removed the Mailchimp Group and THEN the member renews the membership (after the expiration date), the Mailchimp profile for that subscriber/member is *not* updated. It’s almost as if because we had to remove the Group manually, it overrides any future renewal or activation of that same membership.

So, we then have to manually ADD the membership status to the Mailchimp profile for each member that renews after expiration.

Any ideas on how to automate those two steps? Thanks!

    Hi,

However (and here’s the additional, possible bug): if a membership has expired, we have removed the Mailchimp Group and THEN the member renews the membership (after the expiration date), the Mailchimp profile for that subscriber/member is *not* updated. It’s almost as if because we had to remove the Group manually, it overrides any future renewal or activation of that same membership.

Please explain further the above comment especially the following note we have removed the Mailchimp Group. I want to make sure I understand your steps correctly.

    Thank you

On a subscriber’s profile, once they expire, we are forced to manually uncheck the box that identifies this subscriber as a Member. In Mailchimp, we have a group called “Membership” and all the different levels: Youth, Individual, Family, etc.

When a *new* (not renewing or expired) member signs up, they are automatically added to Mailchimp and the correct Group Identifier (Individual, Family, etc) is “checked” on their profile.
