PayPal payment button localization / country / language setting

Hi,

my webpage is directed at German-speaking users mainly from Germany, Austria, Switzerland. I tried to localize the PayPal payment buttons according to https://simple-membership-plugin.com/?s=paypal+payment+button but that did not work. Maybe it is outdated? Can anyone give me an additional hint?

By the way, I’d prefer to use a plugin to “feed” the necessary code into functions.php – any known plugins that will successfully achieve the desired result?

Are you using the new PayPal buttons that uses the new API (PayPal commerce platform)? Those will better for localization. I am referring to the following PayPal button option:
