Hi
There is very useful password length extension by Admin (https://simple-membership-plugin.com/forums/topic/password-length/) which raises the required strong password length to 12. Great feature in these times (IMHO) challenged by an ever-increasing need for securing user data.
I am writing here as a Simple Membership Plugin new user, having posted my first time today at the above posting’s URL, then realizing that this is a “resolved” topic. My hope is that an additional feature can be added to the extension described there, and that this request may benefit from a new posting here. Apologies for any duplication (I am unable to delete my original message there).
What I wrote at the “resolved” posting:
This is a wonderful free extension to override the password length, making it 12 characters long.
To strengthen password security I think that a user password would also benefit from adding a requirement for the standard group of allowed special characters (# $ @ etc.), plus a way to enforce it. (Not something I would know how to do, unfortunately.)
I wondered, if possible, if you could modify the extension to add a special character requirement with enforcement, post it here for use? This would be a great help, making user data even more secure.
Thank you again for this wonderful extension and your kind and generous help.
Best Wishes,
saratogacoach
PS I took a look at the PHP scripting plus need for a Form Builder add on, possibly permissions, and realized quickly that this new extension, if possible, would be way beyond my new user skills and amateur scripting ability.
