Open in new window not working for Stripe

I have this Stripe SCA Buy Now button shortcode:

[swpm_payment_button id=”15″ new_window=”1″]

But it doesn’t open in a new window, it opens in the same window.

What am I doing wrong?

Some of these payment buttons are not a typical button/link that you can see on other parts of the site. That Stripe button can’t open in new window due to how the current code needs to run query in the current window then redirect to Stripe.

I will add an wishlist item to see if we can rework the code to offer this option there.

An alternative option might be to use the following Accept Stripe Payments plugin which has more advanced setup options for Stripe. You can then use the following feature to create a link (which you can open in a new window on click):
