ParticipantI am trying to understand the plugin functionality and want to make sure that two of our most common situations are workable.
We membership plans for one time content and leveled subscriptions using Buy Now and Subscription buttons. The higher levels include all content. At the lower levels we’d like people to have the option to purchase some premium content that is not included in their level.
I would imagine this being done by having people register for levels (ie Bronze, Silver, Gold with ID 1, 2, & 3). We would then have content that was only available to ID 3. By inserting a Buy Now button that gives access to a new ID (ie 4), we could list some of this premium content as available to ID 3,4. This would mean that any Bronze or Silver member could make a one time purchase of the premium content and view it as holders of ID 4.
I am wondering does the above example require a Bronze or Silver member to create a new member profile to view the ID 4 content?
Also, can someone purchase one time content (ID 5) with an expiry period of 7 days and then returns to buy additional content (ID 6) before their first expiry lapses, will the system allow this?
Any feedback on the workability of these two situations or how to make them work is appreciated..

All you have to do is create 4 membership levels as such.
Bronze
Silver
Gold
PlatinumGold and Platinum levels are the ones that you want to allow access to the premium content. Is this what you are trying to achieve?
Also, can someone purchase one time content (ID 5) with an expiry period of 7 days and then returns to buy additional content (ID 6) before their first expiry lapses, will the system allow this?
Are you talking about a trial period of 7 days?

ParticipantThanks for the reply.
I am not sure my first example was clear. We are offering online events. Every weekend we offer unique special events.
Bronze – includes Mon – Fri events, but not Sat or Sun events, which can be added on at full event price
Silver – includes Mon – Fri events, but not Sat or Sun events, which can be added on at half event price
Gold- includes all eventsSo, the Bronze and Silver people should have access to purchase a weekend event, but only be given access to the weekend event that they purchased.
So, rather than ID 4 being platinum, it is more like Saturday 1, ID 5 would be Sunday 1, and so forth.
Basically I am wondering if members can have two IDs at the same time so that they can access two different content types. When the weekend event is over, their second ID would expire.
For my second question, I am not looking for trial content, rather, the option to purchase a single type of event on demand. For example, someone may want the Monday class on the first week. Then they may return for a Thursday class or a later Monday class. So their memberships are giving them access to unique IDs that have expiries (ie Monday classes expire after 7 days, but they return on Thursday means that they possess a membership that holds 2 IDs). Or, you could just say, I want people to be able to return and make one time purchases many times and across a variety of categories (ID 5, ID 6, ID 7, etc).
Do those make sense?

No. A member at present can only have one membership account.

For your second question above, I think the following option https://simple-membership-plugin.com/creating-membership-upgrade-button/ might work for you.
Let me know if the above helps you.
Thank you

ParticipantOk, so there is no way for the Bronze member to add a one time class?
And, for the second. I am looking for people to be able to buy one time content as often as they want without becoming members. At the same time, I want to use swpm as the mechanism for protecting the content.
It is sounding like I have reached the limits of what swpm can do?

KeymasterHi, Yeah this won’t be the best option for you unfortunately since this is not really ideal for “one time” content.
With SWPM, A member is always buying a membership level. Then the user gets access according to whatever that membership level will allow.
