Omit Paypal customer shipping address?

Hi,

I’ve implemented SWPM recently and am really liking it.

One thing that bothers me a bit is that I receive customer street addresses when charging them for digital goods (subscription/site access). This seems unnecessary to me, and I wonder if it doesn’t cause some potential subscribers to turn back from paying out of privacy concerns: “Why does he want my exact physical address for a $1 site registration?”

I would love to be able to disable this so that Paypal does not by default include the user’s shipping address. Is there a way?

Thanks, but unless I misunderstand, this is only for the user registration and profile. I’m not speaking of asking the user for their address on registration. I don’t do that.

It is Paypal that is sending me the user’s Verified Shipping address that’s attached to their Paypal account. I know from past checkouts that Paypal has an option of not sending a Shipping address with Payment. e.g. in the case of digital delivery.

Something in the Paypal Payment button paramaters would seem to be what signals Paypal to either include a shipping address with the user’s payment or not. I would like it not to include one.

Simple membership plugin tells paypal not to collect address (so that’s already in there). I think you are talking about billing address. That is something PayPal is always going to collect for fraud prevention. You can ask paypal support team if you can remove the collection of billing address data on their checkout page.
