ParticipantHello
I’m trying to apply protection to my site and differentiate between Active and Expired Users.
When I apply the following protection – [swpm_protected for=”2-3-4″] – all users in membership level 2, 3 and 4 can see the content plus Expired users. I do not want this.
I would like only active users to see the post/page. For example I would like only active users see a button that allows them to upgrade for a reduced fee.
I see there is a partial protection just for expired users – [swpm_protected visible_to=”expired”] – which is useful for renewals but not upgrades mid plan.
I’m surprised there isn’t a shortcode – [swpm_protected visible_to=”active”]
Any ideas?
Thanks,

ModeratorHi,

Are you saying that the member who’s account has expired and belonged to one of the above levels can see the private content when adding the partial protection shortcode? I just want to make sure I understand correctly your issue.
Regards

ParticipantFor an expired user:
When I have this:
[swpm_protected do_not_show_protected_msg=”1″ for=”2-3-4-5″ ]TEST [/swpm_protected]I get this:
TEST
………….
When I have this:
[swpm_protected do_not_show_expired_msg=”1″ do_not_show_protected_msg=”1″ for=”2-3-4-5″ ]TEST [/swpm_protected]I get this:
TEST
………….
When I have this:
[swpm_protected do_not_show_expired_msg=”1″ do_not_show_protected_msg=”1″ custom_msg=”” for=”2-3-4-5″ ]TEST [/swpm_protected]I get this:
TEST
…………When I have just this:
[swpm_protected for=”2-3-4-5″ ]TEST [/swpm_protected]I get this:
Please renew your account to gain access to this content. So no matter what I do, the expired users either see content they shouldn’t e.g. ‘TEST’ or an error message i.e.Please renew your account to gain access to this content.
Is there a way around this so that expired users see nothing – only active users do? Thanks

ModeratorHi,
Have you tried the following code.
The following section protection option protects the section without showing the “Content is protected” or “Renew your account” message (this is useful if you don’t even want them to know that there is a section of content there):
[swpm_protected for="2-3" do_not_show_protected_msg="1" do_not_show_expired_msg="1"] Whatever content goes here is only visible to members who belong to the specified membership level. Users who do not have access to this content won't see a "Content is protected" message. The expired members won't see the renewal message either. [/swpm_protected]Let me know if the above helps you.
Thank you
