Messages from the site

Hello,
I’ve set up a test install to get the setup I want and everything is working swell for me with a couple exceptions that I can’t figure out.
I have new users setup to be “pending” which works, but how do I send a message to the new signup with and “approved” message once they’re make as “Active”.
Secondly, how do I have the messages to new users arrive with From set as the site name instead of WordPress?
