    Hello,

    This is my website:

The members of my website must pay 45 euros for the first year and 30 euros the following years. My issue is that some members have been asked 45 euros to renew their membership. Why?

Also, what is the difference between membership “expired” and “inactive”?

    Thank you in advance.

    Yours,

Hi, did you create a renewal button? If you did what where your settings?

In regards to your other questions they are kind of the same. They basically serve the same purpose.

    Kind regards

    Hi Mbrsolution,

    Thank you for your reply.

I did create a renewal button [http://ensassociation.org/empty-nose-syndrome-international-association/membership-join/membership-registration/membership-renewal/] and I enabled “Expired Account Login”.

Some members successfully payed 30 euros for the renewal of their membership, so I don’t understand why it doesn’t work for others.

Can you share how many where asked to pay 45 Euros and how many paid 30 Euros? Did you by any chanced enabled Debug mode in the plugin? If you did can you check the log files?

Do all the members that where asked to pay 45 and 30 Euros belong to the same Membership Level?

    Hi Mbrsolution,

    Sorry for answering so late.

I enabled Debug mode and everything seems to be a “success”.

There is only one Membership Level, so everyone belongs to that same level.

Not all the members have this issue, but at least 2.
In my case, I was sent from the button “renew” to a Paypal inscription page. How does the Simple Membership plugin (or Paypal) knows when it is an inscription and when it is a renewal?
I’m not sure anymore, but I think I payed my 45 euros inscription via the Paypal page but not via my Paypal account (inserting my visa card data). May this be the issue?

Hi, to understand how the plugin registration process works please read the following documentation.

In regards to the following comment.

I’m not sure anymore, but I think I payed my 45 euros inscription via the Paypal page but not via my Paypal account (inserting my visa card data). May this be the issue?

Perhaps that is the issue you are experiencing.

    Hi,

I checked and one member with this kind of issue created a paypal account when paying the membership for the first time, so that can’t be the problem. I still don’t see what could have happened.

So now how I can “tell” paypal that it must charge 30 euros instead of 45 euros?

Hi, did those members that were not successful payed while they were logged in? Or where they logged out when they click on the renew button?

    Hi,

Sorry, I couldn’t answer earlier. Members were logged in when trying to renew their membership.
I really need a solution as I can’t make my members pay 45 euros again šŸ™

Hi, the plugin developers will investigate further your issue.

    Thank you

You can make them pay whatever you want because when you create a renewal payment button, you specify the amount you want to charge. There is a misunderstanding somewhere.

It is likely that some of your members went to the join us page where they saw the payment button for 45 Euros. You need to tell them that if they want the renewal price they must go to the renewal page where you have the payment button for 30 Euros.

So have you asked them which page they went to and which button they clicked where they see a 45 Euro price? That will reveal the issue to you because you can then go to that page and see what button your put there.
