Hi someone posted after me and my question hasnt been answered?

“Has this feature been integrated yet? Is there anyway to send an email when either membership expires prompting for renewal or X days before (never expire) recurring payment is taken so the member can cancel if they so wish? It’s pretty crucial functionality really :(“

My problem still not yet resolved also:

All new renewals getting kicked from active to expired even after manually placed back to active and payment been received

It doesn’t have an option to send an auto reminder email.

When your user does come back to the site, it will tell them that their account expired and then they can pay for the renewal/update.

Alternatively, you can create PayPal subscription button so the account just auto renews when the recurring payment is charged (it just works automatically):

Usually people will handle the membership using a subscription button when there a membership site where the account needs to be renewed all the time.
