Members Registering

Hi I have had many emails like the following

“New user registration on your site “Website Name”:

Username: name

E-mail: example@yahoo.com”

But these users are not showing up in the admin panel? I have a feeling that a lot of these emails could be spam. I just don’t understand this?

For example if I oversee somebody registering on my site it works fine. I get a notification email and these users go into the admin pane where I see them.

Can you help me clarify this?

I am pretty sure these spam registrations are coming via your standard WordPress user registration (not via simple membership plugin). Go to “General” Settings of WordPress and uncheck the “Anyone can register” option then save the settings.
