    Hi mbrsolution,

Sorry for the delay in responding – I was called away for a few days.

Thanks for your hint above, but this is beyond my technical ability. I will put your suggestion to my host to see if they will carry out the modification you suggest.

    Many thanks,
    JohnF

I thought I’d let you know that my host has managed to sort this.

They initially tried your suggestion of setting max_input_vars = 3000. That didn’t resolve it. They then upgraded the PHP version to 5.6 (although why the latest version isn’t automatically installed, I don’t know). This did the trick.

So many thanks for your patience. The plugin is working fantastically, with over 8,000 members.

    Cheers,
    JohnF

Hi JohnF, I am happy to hear that finally your issue is resolved. I also don’t understand why hosting companies don’t try to keep up with the latest PHP stable version. This is very important because the latest stable PHP version is always more secure and more functional than the predecessors.

    Regards

    PS Enjoy the plugin 🙂

I’m sorry to resurrect this thread, but the issue has returned, after 2 weeks of perfect running.

I am still running the Twenty Twelve theme, with WordPress 4.4.2 and Simple WordPress Membership v.3.2.0. I have Form Builder v.4.1, although it is de-activated as I haven’t found the time to get to grips with it yet.

Bluehost initially updated their PHP version, and increased the limits as you suggested, but last night I was presented once again with the un-rendered Members page.

I live-chatted with Bluehost today, and they have installed PHP version 5.4.24. They have increased upload_max_filesize to 100M, post_max_size to 100M, and memory_limit to 512M. This still hasn’t solved the problem, and they say “… it looks like it’s a coding issue, you should contact the support for the plugin”.

So, I’m back in your hands, now. As before, the only way I can get the Members page to render is to de-activate temporarily all the other plugins. This, obviously, isn’t ideal.

Do you have anything else you can suggest might be the problem (and the solution)?

    Cheers,
    JohnF

Hi, if deactivating all your other plugin allows Simple Membership to work correctly then it is obvious you have a plugin conflict.

Deactivate all your other plugins, then start activating one by one until you come across the conflicting plugin.

We did this last time. I am able to add 26 plugins, but when I try to add the 27th (and it doesn’t matter which one it is), that’s when the non-rendering occurs. Whatever combination of plugins I have activated, the system copes with 26 OK, but falls down when a 27th is added.

I would like to run 32 plugins. Is this too many? They are quite vital to the running of the site and, of course, six of them are Simple Membership ones.

It is odd (to me) that the only page that suffers this non-rendering is your member page. There are, at present 8,239 items on 165 pages.

My actual site pages number 3,209 over 161 pages, and they have never failed to render, and none of my other pages which list things have failed either.

Thanks for you patience with this issue. It would be good to find a solution.

    Cheers,
    JohnF

Hi, having more than 12 plugins will use a lot of resources. I am currently using in a couple of websites 14 plugins some times. However everyone knows that the more plugins you run the more resources you will need.

    In regards to your comment.

I am able to add 26 plugins, but when I try to add the 27th (and it doesn’t matter which one it is), that’s when the non-rendering occurs

This issue is not related to this plugin. This is a server or host question. If you are going to go down this path where you need so many plugins to run in a site, then I suggest that you upgrade your account to a VPS or Dedicated server. This will allow you to set up and manage all the resources you need.

    In my humble opinion.

    Kind regards

Thanks. I have scrutinised my plugin list, and have reduced them to 16. There are a couple of others I will activate just on the occasions I need them.

For the moment, the member page renders as it should.

Thanks for your continued attention to this.

    Cheers,
    JohnF

Hopefully the last post on this topic.

Even running just 12 plugins, after time the page stopped rendering again. So, I investigated VPS and decided to go down that route. After a couple of days, the members page continues to render as it should, even with my full quota of plugins activated. And the speed is not reduced – in fact it is noticeably faster.

Many thanks for your patience and advice in this matter. With my site attracting even more members, this was, in the end, the best solution.

    Cheers,
    JohnF
