MailChimp List Transitioning

I have two membership levels: free membership (no expiration) and 12 month paid membership. I have different mailchimp lists for free members and paid members.

When a free member upgrades to a paid membership, will they be moved to the paid membership list (and removed from the free list)? Similarly, when a paid member’s subscription expires, will the Simple Membership automatically move them from the paid mailchimp list to the free member list?

Basically, I want my mailchimp lists to stay updated based on the membership level of the user. Is this possible with simple membership?

I have not tested this myself, however it should do just what you mentioned above.

Once the members account has expired the member will not have access to your site until they have paid for an account renewal. They will have access to their account but only to make a payment. They will not have access to any protected page or post content. This can be achieved if you have enabled that feature in the plugin.

If the above is correct then they are still partially members with limitations to your site, the MailChimp set up should still be the same. I believe only when the account is deleted or cancel, that is when they are removed from the MailChimp list. In this case the answer to your question is No, they should not be moved to the Free members MailChimp list.

Just to let you know I have not put the above to action yet. So the above is my theory. Please keep an eye and report back if the above is true.
