I have a client who would like his clients to be able to sign in here: orientpoint.net/client-center without having to input a username/email. Can you help?
I don’t understand… the point of “logging in” is to identify users on an individual basis; so that they can be shown the information that is specific to the “membership level” they belong to. If all users can anonymously access a site, via a simple link; what is the point of having a membership system?
Thanks for getting back to me. I’m sorry for the confusion. If you go to this page: orientpoint.net/client-center
You’ll see there is an option for clients to login with their username or email and password. Is there a way they could login with just a password and no username or email?
That functionality isn’t supported… What if 2 users have the same password?
No problem. I’ll make sure that doesn’t happen. Is it possible?
The SWPM member database is the same as the WP user table. In other words, SWPM member “joebrown” is the same as WordPress user “joebrown” because the same table is shared. What you are asking for requires an extensive modification to not only SWPM, but the WordPress security logic. This request requires an amount of work, the SWPM developers respectfully decline. However, because SWPM is Open Source code; you are more than welcome to make your own modifications, and submit them for peer review.
