We want a fairly simple setup. Private content on a site that is only available to people who have provided their email address to us. Is it possible for an administrator to enter email addresses into a user management tool before any users attempt to login. When someone attempts to create an account, and the email is on the list, they can proceed, receive a validation email and if the email is validated, they can access content. If someone attempts to register with an email that does not already exist, they cannot view content.
Is this something that can be done with simple membership plugin? If so, how would we set this up?
Thank you,
Mark
Short answer: Yes, set up the registrations options to required approval by you. If a new registration attempt is not in your list of emails do not approve. Of course if you get hundreds of registrations and only 20 emails you approve then that would be a lot of “not approved”.
Read some of the document on the Simple Mebership webpage.
I am just a user so this is all I can advise.
We don’t want their registration to be on hold until someone approves it. The goal is to have the list of email addresses in the system ahead of time and it would allow them to register if they are in the list. Is this possible?
Thanks,
Mark
Would this work for you?
