Importing members via CSV

This is a brand new installation; there are no WP members to import into Simple Membership via the import plugin. I need to be able to upload a CSV of members. It can be basic; I have no extra fields at this time. Please advise.

Not really an answer for you, but a thought:
Either send an email to all your users to ‘register’ with you – explaining they can choose a username which they might prefer to their email address and give them the links to your registration page

or

import your user CSV file into WordPress (there are plugins to do this) and then use SimpleMembership addon to import WordPress members.

There is not option to do a CSV import at the moment.

Can you provide documentation to enable use of CSV to WP CSV to Database to populate the member list from a CSV file?
