ParticipantCurrently running the events calendar by modern tribe as well as simple membership plugin on a website. Previously, the calendar worked fine and was viewable by the public (as desired). Now the calendar page (not really a page) is being protected and requiring login. For any other pages I can just click edit and there is a meta box for settings to “protect this content” or not. But since this page isn’t really a page I can’t edit it. And I don’t know why it was working before but no longer. Any ideas?
dascdoulas.org is the site

ParticipantI *think* I may have fixed it?
I unchecked “Enable the Month View Cache”
Can someone explain why that may have fixed it?April 1, 2020 at 4:04 am #19993The Assurer

Have you posted to their support forum?

Can someone explain why that may have fixed it?Caching is not something you want to do with dynamically changing data.

ParticipantYes I submitted a support ticket to them also.
Right I’m not sure why caching is even an option for an event calendar. I don’t remember ever enabling caching. Not sure if that was a new feature/setting and the default was enabled or what.
But it appears that the calendar is working/viewable by public now and not hidden/protected by the Simple Membership Plugin. The only thing I changed was disabling that cache. Does that seem likely to have been the issue? I’m not sure why that would have been related to whether or not the membership plugin would protect the content
The calendar page is an “archive” for event posts. Is there a way in the settings with SMP to ensure that this archive page is always public (not protected)?

ParticipantHere is some more info from the event calendar about how and why there is a caching option – https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/caching-month-view-html-in-transients/
Maybe that article could help us (you, me, devs at modern tribe) understand why the caching messes with your protection rules.
Thoughts?
