ParticipantMy free “guest” users show up in the user list, but they do not show up in the Simple Membership member list as guests. Is this right? How will their accounts be deactivated automatically if they don’t show up in the member list? Have I set something up wrong?

ModeratorHi are those Free guest displayed in your WordPress? Do you want them to display and be integrated and managed by Simple Membership plugin?

Participantyes. The free guests, after they register, only show up as in the wordpress dashboard under “users” and not in the member list. Yes, I want them to be managed by Simple Membership so their accounts to auto-deactivate after 6 months (as set up).

ModeratorHi please read the following documentation. Make sure your new members are signing up using this plugins registration form.

ParticipantThanks! That worked. However, I think it would be a good upgrade to the product if Simple Membership automatically imported each new user into the membership list instead of this being a manual process. But thanks so much for solving my problem. I figure when the guest trial is up the status will change from active to inactive.

KeymasterWhen you use simple membership plugin, the registration form of this plugin should be used to handle all your membership signups. This plugin is not suppose to handle signups from other sources. We prefer not to touch signups via other registration forms (external to this plugin) otherwise it can lead to conflicts.

ParticipantWell, I thought they were registering through Simple Membership. But I guess they are registering through wordpress? Can you explain what is going on? I set things up according to the documentation. There is a paid level and a free level. I use the Simple Membership Join button for the paid membership. For the free level, I tell them to just go to the registration page. On that page (create by your software), it says they are registering as a guest and that’s when they wind up in wordpress as a user and not in the member list. If you can explain what I need to do, that would be great…

ParticipantHow do I make sure they are signing up using the Simple Membership registration form? When I first downloaded the plugin, there was a Free signup button but I think I deleted that and couldn’t figure out how to get it back. When I turn on the free membership level by checking the box in your software, it creates a guest registration page (no button) and that’s where I am directing the members. My site is built on/in WordPress but since this is a WordPress plugin, I figure it should work together. So is the guest registration page the right form, or should I put a Free signup button on the Join page. If I need a button and a particular form, please tell me where to get it.
