Not sure if this came up before — at least I couldn’t see it in Search — but when I look at Google Analytics to see what the most popular pages on my site are, the page view breakdown is pulling in people’s usernames, which skews the numbers.
As a result, instead of one page showing a total of 50 pageviews, I got a pageview total of 1, but it’s recorded 50 times by 50 different users. Is there any way around this or is this one for Google?
Hi,
This might have something to do with your current setup which might involve your theme. Do you have any SEO plugins installed in your site?
Regards
Theme is the Manual theme by WPSmartApps.com and there is an SEO plugin as part of it, Yoast SEO basic — we don’t use the premium version of it.
Hi,
This could be related to how Google Analytics measures this count but it might also be because of how you have set up your sites SEO. However I am not too sure myself. You might want to investigate this further via Google support. Let me know what they find. I am curious to know myself.
Thank you
Hi! Have you managed to solve the issue? If yes, how?
That’s an interesting issue.I’m not sure how to get around it but it sounds like you should look into web 2.0 links. That way, you can make sure the page view numbers are accurate. Since it’s a Google Analytics issue, it might be worth reaching out to them directly. They’ll be able to give you more specific advice on how to fix it. In the meantime, you could also look into using some additional online resources. This way, you’ll be able to track analytics that doesn’t include those skewed numbers. You’ll have near-real-time data and better insights into what’s actually happening on your site.
