ParticipantHi, I’ve just installed the Simple Membership Plugin and I was working on the settings and payment button and everything was ok. When I edited the “Join us” page and inserted the button shortcode that I created and updated the page to see the changes…I could not have access to my Admin Panel beacuse of an Error 502 and my site was not online anymore. After some attempts I was able again to access the Admin panel, I deactived the plugin and everything turned ok.
I don’t understand what happened. I have an SSL Let’s Encrypt installed on the site.
I don’t know what may have caused the issue.
I really appreciate if someone can help.

ModeratorHi, please check the following documentation. Let me know if this is how you edited the Join Us page?
Thank you

ParticipantThanks a lot for your reply Mbrsolution. I’ve just checked the link you sent. When I edited the Join us page I canceled the link to the registration page (the image button at step 3) and I changed the title but not the permalink.
Do you think that the cancellation of the registration link caused the issue?Thank you again.

ModeratorHi, yes that could have caused the issue. But the 502 gateway error tells me that somehow the link between your site and PayPal was broken. You could also delete the join us image and add your own shortcode button. Can you share here your shortcode button? Did you enable PayPal IPN in your PayPal account?
Once you have carried out all of the above can you enable Debug Mode and carry out a test.
Thank you

ParticipantThanks for the support. Things have changed now and we don’t need a membership plugin as we are delivering content for free. So I deactived the plugin and cancelled it. Now the problem is that all old protected categories and the new ones I create without protection are not accessible…maybe the plugin left some code in the DB. Could you help please?

ModeratorHi, do you have a cache plugin? If you do make sure you delete the cache. Also make sure you delete the browser cache as well. Then carry out a test.
If you don’t have a cache plugin try the following. Deactivate all of your plugins then check your categories again? If you have access to your categories then you know you have a plugin conflict.

ParticipantI actually checked the DB and found some swpm_ tables left there. Maybe I’d better delete them. Anyway I’ll first delete the cache as you suggested and then see if everything turns ok.
I’ll let you know.Thank you very much for your support.
