    Hi there,

I can’t get this to work. Is this because, instead of the “Login Link”, I have the [swpm_login_form] in a side bar.

So, when the member is already logged in, it shows their profile. When they are not logged in, it shows the two empty boxes, waiting for them to login. When they fill in these boxes and clik “Login”, they are not taken back to the Last Page, rather to the Home screen, or to whatever URL is specified in the Membership Level.

Would you be able to make the Redirection to the Last Page work for when the login form is filled in?

    Cheers,
    JohnF

Hi, have you tried the following plugin?

Yes, I have that plugin, and I have checked the box “Enable Redirect to Last Page”.

The senario is this: a member goes to my site and doesn’t realise he hasn’t logged in. He then does a search and finds the item he wants to read. However it is protected, so he logs in using the two boxes on the side-bar login form. After logging in he wants to continue where he left off. But it doesn’t take him back to the Last Page, it takes him to wherever I have redirected that membership level is instructed to take him to.

The “Enable Redirect to Last Page” checkbox is supposed to override any other after login redirection configured in the membership level.

    Cheers,
    JohnF

Hi, can you disable all your other plugins. Then carry out a test and report back with your findings. What version of WordPress are you running?

I disabled all my plugins except for the Simple Membership ones, and I get the same result. After logging in I am not redirected to the Last Page.

    WordPress:
    Simple Membership: v3.3.9
    After Login Redirection: v.1.3
    Custom Messages: v.1.4
    Form Builder: v.4.2.9
    Form Shortcode: v. 1.1
    Google recaptcha: v. 1.3

Hi, I just carried out a test and it returns the member to the post it first visited. I also tested pages and the same results. It works on both pages and posts.

Check your .htaccess file to make sure there are no redirecting entries that come from a different plugin.

Also try the following. Disable all the above mentioned plugins/add-ons except After Login Redirection: v.1.3 and Simple Membership: v3.3.9.

Then try again to see if it works. If it does work then start enabling one by one the other plugins/add-ons mentioned above and at the same time carry out a test.

    Regards

    Hi,

I had done this, disabling all plugins except the two mentioned, but I did it again.

Whether Enable Redirection to the Last Page is selected or not, I get redirected to the URL I have specified in the Membership Level.

I don’t understand much about .htaccess, but the only recent change I made to this file is enable Hotlink Prevention of .pdf files using the host’s checkbox to do this. But this problem already existed before I had the Hotlink Prevention switched on.

Thanks for your continued attention to this,
    JohnF

Hi, in regards to the following comment.

I get redirected to the URL I have specified in the Membership Level.

What if you remove the specified URL in the Membership Level?

If I remove the specified URL in the Membership Level, I get sent to my HOME page, not to the Last Page.

OF course, clicking on the browser Back button then takes you back to the last page, you are logged in, so you continue.

    Hello,
I was having the same issue. I have 30 plugins and tested all. I found the problem was… “The Simple Membership Custom Messages Plugin.”

!!! With that deactivated, the login redirect goes to the user’s last page as expected.

So any suggestion how I can customize the login message from “You need to login to view this content. Please Login. Not a Member? Join Us” and still have a login redirect?

I think you have a GREAT product, but it took a lot of effort for me to discover that your own plugins are incompatible…
    Thanks

    Hi sezg,

Thanks for joining in the discussion.

I have 30 plugins, also, five of them from Simple Membership, including Custom Messages. I deactivated Custom Messages but I don’t get your successful result. After login I am still taken to the HOME page, or to the page I specified in each of the Membership Levels.

Back to the drawing board for me.

    Hi mbrsolution

If it helps, admin already has access to my WP Admin because, this morning, he helped solve one of my other queries under the Help article “Searching for a common name”. Perhaps he can get to the bottom of this.

Hi John, Did you try deactivating all of the other Simple Membership plugins except the main one and the redirect one? Wouldn’t be surprised if one of them is the culprit.

Yes, sezg, I’ve tried every combination of plugin activated/deactivated, covering all my 30 plugins. As a fallback I have specified a URL in the membership levels to an “After Login” page, which basically tells people to click on the browser “Back” button.

    I’ll await further developments,

Hi, I have submitted a message to the plugin developer to investigate further your issue.

    Thank you
