ParticipantHi,
Do you know of a setting or plugin that will enable WP system emailing of Members/Subscribers if anyone posts a comment on a protected page?

ModeratorHi check the following documentation. Let me know if this is what you are looking for.
Thank you

ParticipantHi,
I’m not sure how your plugin works. I am looking for a method so that when someone posts a comment on a protected page ALL members receive a notice by default (currently only I, as admin, get a notice). An opt-out feature might be useful, but I would like all members to receive notice of comments without having to do anything except be a member.

ModeratorHi, the link I provides has a few plugins that will do just that. Unfortunately our plugin does not have the feature you requested available.
Let me know if you need more help.
Thank you

ParticipantHi,
I couldn’t find in docs any explicit mention of this. However I did find another plugin that did. If you want to check it out: https://wordpress.org/plugins/bnfw/
It’s use leads me to a question. The plugin can be set to send email to WP users with Subscriber role. The only users I have with Subscriber role are (theoretically) Simple Membership members. However, the number of Subscribers is much larger than the number of Active Members. (244 vs. 174)
When a membership expires, is the User’s role not changed or user removed from WP Users list? How can I reconcile the two lists such that the WP Users with Subscriber role is equal to the SMP Active Member list?

ModeratorHi, when a member expires and is removed from Simple Membership members it is also removed from WP Users if it exists there as well.
Can you further explain the following comment.
However, the number of Subscribers is much larger than the number of Active Members. (244 vs. 174)
Thank you

ParticipantThere are two lists: WP Users and SMP Members. Users have roles and Members are Active or Expired (or Pending, etc). I have 245 WP Users: 244 Subscribers and 1 Admin. I have 174 Active SMP Members and 98 Expired Member. I don’t delete expired members.
Theoretically, It seems I should have 174 Subscribers and 98 with “no roles.” Can these two lists be synced somehow? The plugin uses WP User Roles to create the recipients. If I send emails to Subscribers, a lot of non-Members or expired Members will also get an email.

ModeratorHi, did you import your WP Users into Simple Membership members list? Or are the membership users, new members that signed up via the membership plugin?

ParticipantThe first month or so (July 2017) I did not have your plugin and then I imported those few with your tool. After that all but a couple manual members are via your plugin

ParticipantI meant July 2015 above

ModeratorHi, in regards to your comment. Did most of the members signed up via Simple Membership plugin except the few that you added manually?
After that all but a couple manual members are via your plugin
As far as I know, when someone signs up via Simple Membership plugin they are also added to WP Users. When you delete the member from Simple Membership plugin they are also deleted from WP Users account. If you change the members role in Simple Membership plugin they will not change in WP Users account.
In regards to the following comment. How are you sending an e-mail to subscribers? What method are you using?
If I send emails to Subscribers, a lot of non-Members or expired Members will also get an email.

ParticipantYes, most people signed up using plugin (via paypal button). Recall a previous post. Emails are sent via plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/bnfw/) to WordPress Users with Subscriber role when a Comment is posted on a protected page.

ModeratorOkay, going back to the original question there is no option in the plugin for what you need unfortunately.
Do you know of a setting or plugin that will enable WP system emailing of Members/Subscribers if anyone posts a comment on a protected page?
