Hi,
I have been unable to use the dynamic e-mail merge tag {membership_level_name} when I check the “Notify User” box while in the Edit Member tab. Here is the text I am using in the “Mail Body”:
———————————————————————————————
Dear {first_name} {last_name},
Your membership has been approved! Your account status is Active. Your membership level is {membership_level_name}.
Please login to the member area at the following URL:
{login_link}
Thank You,
ESRD Support——————————————————————————————–
What the user currently receives looks like the following (for a first name of Brent, a last name of Lancaster and a membership level name of Customer):
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Dear Brent Lancaster,
Your membership has been approved! Your account status is Active. Your membership level is {membership_level_name}.
Thank You,
ESRD Support
____________________________________________________________________________________________What I’ve noticed is if the e-mail merge tag contains no text, it defaults to not replacing the merge tag itself (i.e. if the first name is ” then {first_name} will appear). Is there a reason why the Membership Level names would be blank?
Currently, my membership levels are the following:
ID | Membership Level
6 Software Downloader
5 Trial Evaluator
4 Customer
2 Registered UserIdeally, it would use the current Membership Level right under the “Mail Body” field, and I would not have to manually enter the Membership Level in the e-mail.
Is there a fix for this? Thanks!

OvidiuApril 4, 2021 at 7:23 am #22401Hi,
Out of curiosity and for testing purposes do any of the following email tags work?

April 4, 2021 at 9:17 am #22405Hi,
{membership_level_name} and {primary_address} do not work. All other tags do. Unfortunately, it seems that these two tags never worked (or at least not in the last 3 years).
cheers!

April 5, 2021 at 12:04 am #22411I have updated the plugin’s code so that the {membership_level_name} email merge tag can work for the “Notify User” feature. It will go out with the next release of the plugin.
