custom validation

Hi everyone

I’m using the Form Builder Add-on to add some fields to the registration process, but I need to add a custom validation too.
In the documentation section I saw the swpm_before_login_request_is_processed hook. In the description i read “It can be used to add extra custom checks/validation from your custom code”.
Is there any other information in order to add custom validation?
