WordPress Membership Plugin
Simple Membership Plugin › Forums › Simple Membership Plugin › Create new members and associate with existing Stripe subscription?
I’m building a website for my friend. He has existing Stripe subscription customers.
The website is providing added value for all of the subscription customers.
There are only 10 existing members so I’d like to manually add them as a member in the Simple Membership Plugin.
I can do this, but how can I ensure that if they stop paying then their membership will no longer be active?
Basically some way to associate the existing Stripe customers to new Simple Membership Plugin users.
It is not possible, to create and then “tie” memberships to an existing Stripe, PayPal, etc. recurring payment contract (AKA subscription). The restriction is imposed by the payment companies to cut down on fraud.
You mentioned the users have existing subscriptions. To/Through what other plugin? And is it hosted on the same site as SWPM?
Hi Assurer,
Thanks so much for the reply. The payments are with WooCommerce.
If it is not possible to “associate” these users with Stripe subscriptions can you think of any solutions as I’m sure you have much more expertise than myself!
Many thanks!
When the recurring payment occurs; a confirmation IPN is sent to whatever plugin is currently receiving it. You may be wondering if it is possible for the original plugin to relay that IPN to SWPM. But there has to be a way to associate it to a particular member. I don’t think it’s possible; without compromising the security of your site. In any case, what you are asking for is beyond the scope of this support forum. If you’d like to “try.” you are welcome to place a custom coding request, and a developer will get in touch with you.
