Hi there,
I have had two separate problems over the last two days, and I think I have identified the area which is causing confusion.
One of my members joined a while ago using a normal username and email address. 6 months later they had forgotten they had joined, and made a new registration. This time they used their email address as their username. SM allowed them to do this. So they have two separate memberships. Now, when they fill in the login boxes the system brings up their old membership (which has since expired) rather than their new one, which hadn’t.
I suspect this happens because you made the change a few months ago to allow either Username or Email to be entered into the login screen.
Would you be able to get SM to check that neither the Username nor the Email as username have been used before?
Many thanks,
JohnF

Hi, thank you for your suggestion. The plugin developers will investigate further your request.
Regards
SWPM won’t let them create an account with the SAME email address in the “email address field”. There is already a check for this in the plugin.
Whatever they use in the username field is upto them. They have had to use TWO different email address to create these two accounts. So as far as the system is concerned, these are TWO separate accounts. You can delete one of the accounts.
Many thanks,
JohnF
