I’d be really grateful if someone could help me to solve this issue.

My client installed the Simple Membership plugin and has somehow managed to lock down the WP Dashboard….so as administrators we can login via wp-admin but all we see is the website and the black WordPress menu bar at the top (with no links to Dashboard). She tells me that she’s also deleted the plugin….I can’t log in (obviously) but looking at the directory structure via FTP it looks like the plugin has gone.

I’ve created a new administrator via PHPmyadmin but that has the same issue, so I’m guessing that she has somehow changed the WP definition of the admin role.

Can anyone give me any ideas what to do to change the admin access back to how it should be please?

Hi, what is currently set up for Admin Dashboard Access Permission? This is located under Advanced Settings tab.

Unfortunately no-one can get in to check…..would I be able to see that setting in the DB?

I think your best option is to ftp into your server and disable the plugin by simply renaming the folder. Then once you are logged in, rename the plugin folder to it’s original name and enable the plugin. Then you should be able to troubleshoot this issue.

Thanks MBRSolution, I appreciate your input. I have looked at the site structure via FTP and it looks like the plugin has already been deleted.

Hi, the folder name is /wp-conent/plugins/simple-membership. If you don’t see the aforementioned then the plugin is deleted as you stated above. In that case, it means that you have a different issue altogether.

The plugin is definitely deleted. Thanks for your support…..I had assumed that the plugin had somehow made some changes to the admin definition….but it might be that they did something else while trying to fix the issue.

I have the same issue. 🙁
I added myself as a membership member with the same credentials as for my wp-admin user.
    I checked ‘Hide Dashboard’
I deleted my wp simple membership member and provoked also deleting my wp-admin user.
I entered a new wp-admin user via MyPHPAdmin.
    I renamed the plugin folder.
I can, again, access mydomain.com/wp-admin and login, but still cannot access the Dashboard.

I appreciate any help to solve this issue. Thank you.

    Hi there,
I am experiencing the same issue now. As an Admin I cannot access the Dashboard.
I have tried to rename the folder via my host control panel as in the Forum and looked at the URL above but both have not worked.
Please help!! I can’t get in to my website
    Thank you!

After using FTP to disable plugins and themes, I am able to login but get redirected to the Profile page with no WordPress core menu items.

When I click on the “Dashboard” I get “The Admin of this site does not allow users to access the wp dashboard.”

    Please please help!!

I’ve tried all sorts of solutions out there but nothing seems to be working!!

    Hi,

When I click on the “Dashboard” I get “The Admin of this site does not allow users to access the wp dashboard.”

Is Simple Membership plugin enabled when this happens to you? Are you login into your sites WordPress admin area or are you login into your membership area?

    Hi,

Trying login into Admin area using Admin credentials but it redirects me to a Profile page. When I click on Dashboard it gives me the unable to access message.

Do you have Simple Membership plugin enabled or disabled? If it is enabled, can you disabled the plugin by renaming the folder via FTP. Then log in and rename the folder back to its original name. Enable the plugin and check the settings. Please make sure the plugins default pages created when you installed the plugin are correct, check the following documentation for further instructions.

If the plugin is disabled, then one of your other plugins is causing this issue. What plugins do you have installed in your site?

Thank you. I’ll try the disabling plugins again.
I disabled all plugins by renaming the plugins folder but did not try one by one.
    Will attempt that now.
    I’ve got:
    Divi
    Updraft Plus
    Yoast
    bbPress
    Simple-memberships
    Simple membership after login redirection
    Simple membership wp user importer
