ParticipantI cannot set up a link between Stripe and Simple Membership, because there are no Stripe API Keys to Copy and Paste.
from the “Simple Membership” instructions:
“Step 11) Within your Stripe account, click on the
‘Developers‘ menu and then on ‘API Keys‘.”
https://simple-membership-plugin.comThere is no “Developers” menu item in the “Stripe Payments” on my WP account page.
Are these instruction referring to some other location?
If so, where?I’ve made a product and got the “Shortcode.”
Filled out the Stripe Settings pages (currency symbol, etc.)I had previously signed up with WooCommerce and Stripe, and subsequently deleted the old plugins for these two systems. I only tested the system for payments and never used it to process any actual cash business. Is there any old data stored that could be affecting what is available on my WP system?
Thanks for your assistance.

ParticipantHi:
Thanks for the instructional reference, which states:
“Locate API keys in the Dashboard”Which Dashboard would this be?
Stripe is not mentioned in my Web site’s Dashboard. And the only Menu items in my
“Stripe Payments” folder are:
Products
Add New Production
Orders
Coupons
Settings
Add-onsAlso a “Developers” item is mentioned, which also is not showing in my Stripe or general menu list anywhere.
Any clue what step I’m missing?
Thanks for your assistance.

ModeratorYOU MUST LOG INTO YOUR STRIPE ACCOUNT, ON THE STRIPE WEBSITE. It is “there,” that you will find the information. This is also clearly stated in the SWPM documentation.
Step 11) Within your Stripe account…

ParticipantHi:
I installed and activated the “Accept Stripe Payments” plugin. Is this the correct plugin?
If it is, it did not activate an account with Stripe.
I had previously been plugged into WooCommerce, which had connected me to “Stripe Express.” Several weeks ago, I deleted the plugins to both Woo and Stripe Express within my WordPress account.
Apparently, I’m still connected to the Stripe Express system (https://connect.stripe.com/express_login). There does not appear to be an Admin setup on the Express system. And, there is no way to remove the references to the WooCommerce data.
1) Is “Accept Stripe Payments” plugin the correct one to use with Simple Membership?
2) Should I remove the Strip Express account on the Stripe Web site, before attempting to re-do the settings in Simple Membership in order to activate the Stripe Payments access?
Re your other questions:
My primary language is US English.
I have a doctorate in education.
I’ve been programming HTML-based Web sites since 1995.
On these Web sites I edit, design, program, and provide images and/or retouching, as well as having maintained commerce sites, and installed PayPal.Thank for your assistance.

KeymasterUnderstanding Stripe payments and WordPress might seem daunting if you’re new to them. To avoid confusion early on, it’s advisable not to install too many plugins. Remember, our plugin doesn’t generate the API key; this key is provided by Stripe. You can copy those API keys from your Stripe.com account then enter these API key values into our plugin for it to interact with your Stripe account.
There are numerous tutorials and videos online that explain how to obtain your Stripe API keys. I recommend conducting a Google search to find these resources. Becoming familiar with the Stripe.com site and its functionalities can significantly reduce any initial confusion you might have.
