Can I use it for ads free membership level – recurring Paypal subscription?

I am looking to offer an ad-free Membership Level on my WordPress website. So I would use Paypal recurring payment (monthly) and for as long as this is active the member should be on this Membership level and if / when cancelled the membership should be set to WordPress Subscriber role or a different Membership level not hiding the ads.

Would Simple Membership Plugin be a good solution for this?

It “depends” on the desired behavior that you want for “ad supported” content.

If the ad supported content also applies to non-members, as well as expired members; the answer is “yes” because all you’d have to do is suppress the ads for logged in members, who have active memberships.
