I wonder if Simple Membership can set posts to be protected by default? I thought it can be done by using Catalogue protection but turn out I still have to go to each post to configure them to be protected. Can it be done by default automatically?

The case is that I have another plug-in that accepts emails and put them in new posts. I want them to be protected once received automatically.

Hi, The following “category” protection is the only option for this:

When you have protected a category then any new post that you put in that category will also be protected. So when you publish the post, make sure to apply that protected category to the post and that should protect it.

    Thanks for your reply.

I already have the “category” protection in place. However, I still have to go to the posts and manually select “Yes, Protect this content”.

So, is there any way that the protection can be done completely manless?

I just tested this function myself by doing the following steps and it works for sure.

    1) protected a category from the “Membership Level” -> “Category Protection” menu
    2) Created a new post. Before publishing, I selected the protected category for this post from the “Categories” menu.
    3) Published the post.
    4) Viewed the post from the front-end. It is correctly protected.

If you are not seeing the above behavior, then most likely there is some kind of conflict on this site. The following test is a good starting point:
