Additional information registration form

Hi,

If I get a new user to register with a free membership, and a collect very basic user data during that process, how can I collect additional information from them once they upgrade their account to a paid membership?

Upgrading the account, and collecting the payment works perfectly. It is just the additional information that is not collected.

The only way I can think of achieving this is by using the form builder addon. This will allow you to add extra custom fields to the registration process.

I have already invested in a license for the simple membership form builder addon, and it works great with new registrations. Existing (free) subscriptions just get upgraded, so I can not work out how to trigger a special form that will only collect the additional data I need.

Is there a way to do an account “upgrade form” that potentially pick up that the user already exists (free account user) and then just request the additional info?

Hi, follow the instructions above for creating a membership upgrade button. This allows you to create a new button in which you will assign a new membership level. For example: You can name this membership level upgrade silver level. Since you already have the form builder addon, you can then create a new registration form with the extra fields added as per your requirements and assign this form to the new upgrade membership level. Let me know if this makes sense.
