We are working with an associate site who run Simple Membership. We need to give our members access to content behind their log in but for GDPR reasons cannot share membership information with them. Is there a scripted/coded way of logging in to the Simple Mebership plug in as if we were a member so we get seamless access to pages behind the membership log in?
We need to give our members access to content behind their log in but for GDPR reasons cannot share membership information with them.
Can you provide an example of what you are trying to achieve? This will help me understand exactly what you are trying to do.
Thanks for getting back to me, much appreciated. Unfortunately I haven’t got an example yet but currently, if a member of the target site log’s in they are given access to member only pages. I understand that Simple Membership controls access to restricted site pages? We manage an affiliate site, where our members need access to member pages on the target site (they also log in to our site).
I’d like to do this via a simple link and some sort of script which automatically logs them in to Simple Membership without needing to actually enter log in details. I have access to the target site admin and have a member of my team who can code but need advice on a) if this is possible and b) what would be the best approach, ie. would it be possible to by pass the log in process all together and get behind the log in?
ps, I can provide the target site with enough information for them to register our members as members on their site (member number, given name and anonymous email address) Which may help in the solution.
Hi, I have contacted the developers to investigate further your current issue/request.
